Who Have Suffered Through Trauma

Oz Tannenbaum is a dedicated and experienced personal injury attorney who has built his career on helping clients navigate the difficult aftermath of serious accidents. With a deep understanding of the physical, emotional, and financial toll that traumatic events can take, Oz is committed to securing the compensation his clients need to recover and move forward.

What sets Oz apart is his compassionate, client-centered approach. He treats every client with the same level of care and respect that he would extend to his own family and friends. From the very first conversation, Oz prioritizes listening—ensuring that his clients feel heard, understood, and supported. His goal is not just to win cases but to help people rebuild their lives. That means advocating for the medical treatment they need, fighting for financial security, and guiding them through the legal process with clarity and confidence.

For Oz, every case is personal. He knows that an accident can disrupt not only a person’s health but also their ability to work, support their family, and enjoy life as they once did. That’s why he works tirelessly to make sure his clients receive the justice they deserve—so they can focus on healing and getting back to the life they had before the accident.

Early Life & Education

Oz has called Orange County home for most of his life. He earned his law degree from Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles in 2005, where he was an active member of the Moot Court Honors Program

Before pursuing law, Oz attended California Polytechnic University, Pomona, where he graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Finance, Real Estate, and Law. His background in finance and real estate gives him a unique perspective when handling cases involving economic damages, insurance claims, and settlement negotiations.

This well-rounded foundation allows him to strategically advocate for his clients, ensuring they receive the compensation they deserve while helping them navigate the financial challenges that often come with serious injuries.

With his deep roots in the community, Oz is committed to serving the people of Orange County, using his experience, education, and passion to make a meaningful impact in his clients’ lives.

From Defense to Advocacy: Leveraging
Litigation Experience to Fight for the Injured

Oz was admitted to the California Bar in 2005 and has been practicing law for nearly two decades. Before joining Cohn & Swartzon in 2021, he spent almost a decade as a litigator at Murtaugh Meyer Nelson & Treglia LLP (now Murtaugh Treglia Stern & Deily LLP). During this time, he gained extensive experience in all phases of litigation, honing his skills in case strategy, negotiation, motion practice, and trial advocacy.

While defending individuals and businesses in personal injury and wrongful death cases, Oz developed a comprehensive understanding of how the defense side approaches litigation. This unique insight now allows him to anticipate defense strategies and build stronger, more effective cases for injury victims seeking justice.

Since transitioning to plaintiff representation at Cohn & Swartzon, Oz has leveraged his litigation background to fight for maximum compensation for his clients, helping them rebuild their lives after serious accidents.

Experience That Produces Results

Oz speaks with every single client at various stages of litigation and has always provided one-on-one attention to each client’s case, regardless of the nature or extent of the injuries sustained. This personal approach to each client’s case is a challenging and rewarding experience for which he is particularly proud.

Additionally, Oz spent years defending the interests of insurance companies, where he gained first-hand knowledge of how they evaluate cases to minimize paying full and fair compensation to injured persons and/or their families. He puts his knowledge and experience of the opposition’s tactics to use every day in meticulous preparation and vigorous advocacy for his clients.

Professional Associations & Memberships

Oz is an active member of the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association (OCTLA), where he collaborates with fellow plaintiff attorneys to advance justice for injury victims through education, advocacy, and trial strategy development.

As a member of the Orange County Bar Association (OCBA), one of California’s largest legal associations, Oz stays engaged in continuing education, professional development, and community outreach, ensuring he remains at the forefront of legal trends.

He is also part of ProVisors, a prestigious network of top professionals, allowing him to build valuable connections and provide clients with access to trusted resources across various industries.

Through these affiliations, Oz continues to sharpen his skills, expand his knowledge, and strengthen his advocacy for those in need.

Beyond the Law Firm: Oz’s Passions

Oz’s hobbies include playing and watching ice hockey, traveling, and most recently, learning to golf. However, his favorite thing to do is spend time with his wife, son, and dog.
