Anson Bui

Senior Trial Attorney

Family man. Experienced litigator. Pianist. Attorney.

Dedicated to Maximizing Results for Californians Who Deserve Compensation After Injuries

For the first 10 years of his legal career, Anson worked closely with insurance adjusters who uttered the mantra, “We will pay what we owe,” however, getting them to that point required navigating the complexities of insurance litigation. Over time, he realized this mantra often did not align with reality. Injured victims going toe-to-toe against an insurance company that possessed indomitable resources was a never-ending battle of David facing Goliath. Anson made the transition to plaintiffs work to help injured persons and their families. He knows what carriers look for and will fight to ensure his clients are fairly compensated and made whole.

Early Life & Education

Anson was born and raised in Orange County. He obtained a B.A. from UCLA and continued to law school at the University of San Diego School of Law. During his last year of law school, he competed in USD’s Mock Trial Competition and was a finalist.

After passing the bar, he worked in-house for the top insurance company in the country and gained valuable experience in insurance litigation.

Awards & Ratings

  • During his career, Anson has tried numerous jury trials with exceptional results. In 2022, his firm awarded him with the distinction of “Trial Attorney of the Year”.
ABOTA Logo

Attended over 600 ABOTA depositions.

For more than 10 years, Anson represented insurance policyholders against claims of motor vehicle negligence, premises liability, property damage, and uninsured/underinsured motorist claims as an in-house attorney for a prominent insurance agency.

Anson served as first chair counsel on numerous jury trials with exceptional results. He also litigated and defended classic MIST cases, as well as high exposure and catastrophic injuries such as traumatic brain injury, spinal fractures, orthopedic injuries, and dog bites.

As an attorney with Cohn & Swartzon, Anson leverages his years as an insurance company attorney to advise and represent plaintiffs in all areas of personal injury for maximum recovery.
