Jason D. Cohn

A true California native, Jason D. Cohn was born and raised in the Southern California area of Orange County. Staying close to home after graduating high school, he attended the extremely prestigious Business Administration Entrepreneur Program at the University of Southern California’s (USC) Marshall School of Business. During his time at USC Cohn was a member of the Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity and became lifelong friends with a fellow member, Saar Swartzon. Cohn and Swartzon would later be the founders of their own legal firm Cohn & Swartzon’s. Upon completion of Cohn’s degree in 1994 he decided to follow his father’s path by enrolling into Whittier Law School.

Cohn was an excelled as a law student, studious and hardworking, he would hold private tutoring sessions and would regularly be included on the Dean’s List. Due to Cohn’s excellent performance in law school he was invited to become a member of the Whittier Law Review and Moot Court Honors Board. In 1997 Cohn graduated from Whittier Law School, cum laude, and relocated back to Orange County from Los Angeles. Jason began practicing law as a business litigator and personal injury defense attorney for a distinguished law firm in Newport Beach.

Cohn’s father passed away in 2003 and Cohn began to fatigue on the position that insurances companies’ would take against people claiming personal injury. In response to this, with his lifelong friend and colleague Saar Swartzon, Cohn founded the law firm of Cohn & Swartzon, P.C. Since 2003, Jason Cohn has been representing and assisting numerous clients through their personal injury matters. These matters range from the minor to the catastrophic. The main goal at Cohn & Swartzon, P.C. has been to achieve the best possible outcome by working with each client one-on-one. This lends in providing the highest level of service through respecting and understanding each client’s expectation.

Jason Cohn is licensed to practice law in most Federal District Courts in California, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and all California State courts. In addition, Cohn has previously been positioned as a temporary judge in the Los Angeles County courts system. As an alumni, he has also been a guest lecturer at USC and numerous times at Whittier Law School. In 2015 and 2016, Cohn was also appointed as an Adjunct Professor at Whittier Law School in Costa Mesa. In the media, he has appeared as a guest on several radio shows and was named as one of the Top Attorneys in Orange County by OC Metro Magazine. OC Metro Magazine surveys the top attorneys in the area by assessing the quality of each attorney taking into account: years of experience, education, background, and board certification.

Jason's Personal Interests

During Jason’s personal time he continues to live in Orange County with his family enjoying activities, such as: air shows, sports cars, watching all types of auto-racing, wine tasting, and enjoying good barbecue. Additionally, during Jason’s off time he also takes pleasure in different outdoor activities, including: boating, deep sea fishing, skiing in Mammoth, camping, off-road motorcycle riding, and off-roading. Jason has even been a participant in off-road events like SCORE Baja 1000 in Baja, California and the Best of the Desert - Vegas to Reno race.
